Job Summary
The Assistant Manager Quality Assurance is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) that complies with industry standards such as ISO. The role includes establishing quality standards, conducting inspections, coordinating third-party audits, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Manager ensures all quality processes comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, and collaborates with various departments to integrate quality controls into all manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities

Quality Control and Assurance:
-
Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) that complies with industry standards such as ISO.

Establish and enforce quality standards and specifications for raw materials, work-in-process products, and finished goods, packaging, dispatch, and effluent treatment.

Develop and oversee rigorous inspection and testing protocols to ensure products meet quality standards at every stage of production through sample collection and testing.

Test the quality of the drawn wire and share the testing report with the plant manager and production team.

Conduct online inspections at all stations in predefined manners and verify production in all manners.

Coordinate all and third-party inspections.
-
Test the raw material received and stack as per grades.

Documentation and Compliance:
-
Check and verify the quality report sent by the Quality Executive in ERP.
-
Coordinate and verify documents to be made under ISO.
-
Communicate and coordinate with BIS for audit and certification processes.
-
Prepare, check, and verify trial reports and finalize the parameters for testing of material.
-
Ensure all acquired licenses, permissions, and statutory requirements are followed and are up to date.

Process Improvement:
-
Lead and manage continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Statistical Process Control (SPC) to enhance product quality and manufacturing processes.

Conduct thorough root cause analysis for any quality issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to eliminate recurrence.

Define, track, and report on key quality performance indicators (KPIs), such as defect rates, scrap rates, and customer complaint trends, to identify areas for improvement.

Prepare PMS (Process Management Sheet) on a monthly basis.
-
Prepare rejection reports and send them to the planning team for the rejection process of the raw material.

Administration:

Check and prepare work order sheets.
-
Conduct equipment calibration of all lab equipment and other equipment.
-
Ensure that equipment and other consumables are used before their expiry date.

Team Building and Coordination:
-
Prioritize the work allotment based on urgency.
-
Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor quality control staff, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
-
Collaborate closely with production, purchase, stores, and maintenance departments to address quality issues and integrate quality controls into all manufacturing processes.

Develop and conduct training programs to ensure all employees understand quality standards and procedures.

Build stronger interpersonal relations and team cohesion.

Safety, Security, and Environmental Sustainability:

Ensure proper hygiene and housekeeping in the plant.
-
Ensure that all quality processes comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as industry standards.

Promote and enforce safety standards within the quality control department, ensuring a safe working environment.
-
Conduct regular internal audits to verify compliance with the QMS and identify opportunities for improvement.
Requirements

Knowledge of QMS, ISO certification, testing norms, third-party inspection, and inspection processes; strong communication and coordination skills (C1).

Knowledge of the entire production process, audit and certification process, ISO norms and documentation, licensing process; ability to liaison with various government agencies; strong communication and coordination skills (C2).

Knowledge of Process Management Sheet preparation, documentation; strong communication skills (C3).

Knowledge of work order preparation, calibrating agencies, and external calibration process; ability to manage perishable inventory (C4).

Strong team management skills, knowledge of SOPs, and emotional intelligence; effective interpersonal skills (C5).

Knowledge of environmental regulations, safety standards, quality control, SOPs, and basic hygiene (C6).
